Abstract

As far as the xanthogranulomatous form is rare among the pyelonephritis in adult and seldom in the childhood. We present five children here. The youngest case was 5 months and the oldest was 7 years old. 3 cases had semptoms of urinary infection and 2 had abdominal mass on admission to hospital. X ray studies and laboratory did not help for the diagnosis preoperatively. Histopathological examination of the nephrectomy specimens revealed "Xanthogranulomatous Pyelonephritis".
