Abstract

Seventeen years old fermale referred to the hospital with breathlessness, weakness, fatigue, cough for one year and hemoptysis for one month. She has been treated with iron because of a iron deficiency anemia for four years. There were alveoler infiltrates at botlh lung, especially at lower lobes. Hemosiderin-laden alveoler macrophages was seen in bronchoalveoler lavage fluid. Symptoms of respiratory system those may be accompanied by iron deficiency anemia and pulmonary infiltrates should direct the clinicans to idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis and the diagnosis should not be delayed.
