Abstract

The clinicopathological correlations have been investigated in 62 nephrectomized children. The diagnosis was kidney tumour in 22, pyelonephritis in 18, hidronephrosis in 12, trauma in 5, hypoplasia in 4, and hydatid cyst in one. Early therapy or conservative surgery may prevent some nephrectomies. The nephrectomy has to be performed rather early if there is danger to other kidney.
