We aimed to investigate in terms of clinical course and treatment respons our patients who followed between years 2007-2012 with immune thrombocytopenic purpura.

METHODS

103 patients were enrolled to study who diagnosed chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura between the years 2007-2012 in Tepecik Training and Research Hospital Department of Internal Medicine. Patients were investigated retrospectively in terms of age, gender, treatment and response, clinical course.

RESULTS

The average age of the patients was 48.9 and female / male ratio was 2.4. 65 patients with skin lesions, 16 patients with mucosal bleeding, and two patients with brain hemorrhage were admitted. There were no signs of bleeding in 23 patients. 9 patients were followed without treatment. Steroid for 95 patients, splenectomy for 26 patients, immunosuppressive therapy for 10 patients were performed.
