Abstract

AIM: We aimed to determine etiologic reasons of fecal incontinence in patients applying to our service between June 2003 and June 2008, with fecal incontinence symptoms and having a Wexner score of 8 or more, by history, physical examination and laboratory studies. MATERIAL AND METIHIOD: Fifty-eight patient (38 men and 20 female) were included in the study. The median age was 31 (20-78 years) for men and 54 (30-83 years) for women. Patients were evaluated according to Wexner Continencc Grading Scale. Anal manometry and other diagnostic tests were performed to the patients, whom ineluded the study after evaluation. FINDINGS: According to the Wexner Continence Grading Scale, the median score was determined as 12,4 (8-16) for men, and 11,3 (17-45) for women. In anal manometry studies, median anal canal resting pressure was determined as 30,4 (17-45)
